INTERIOR DECORATION & FURNISHING
From our Brisbane studio, we provide interior decoration for private homes across Australia and internationally, either as part of a complete design or as a furnishing-only commission.
We start with your tastes, routines, and existing possessions, then develop a cohesive scheme across materials, furniture, lighting, textiles, window treatments, artwork, and objects. We choose contemporary, vintage, and bespoke pieces to create an interior that feels individual rather than showroom-led.
Whether refreshing one room or furnishing an entire home, every decision considers comfort, proportion, durability and daily life. The result is a refined, personal interior that feels naturally established.

Yes. Daniel Kostiuc Interior Design offers decoration and furnishing as part of a complete design or on its own for a finished home, with furnishing-only commissions and individual rooms considered case by case. The scheme covers colour and materials, furniture, decorative lighting, textiles, rugs, window treatments, art and objects.
-
Daniel builds each palette from the home's architecture, its light and the client's Personal Design Code. Colours, timbers, stones, metals and fabrics are considered together and tested against the light in each room, so the finished scheme reads as one considered whole rather than a collection of separate choices.
-
Daniel specifies textiles, rugs and window treatments as part of the overall scheme, balancing texture, colour and pattern with comfort and durability. In Queensland's climate, window treatments are chosen to manage strong light and heat while preserving views, and fabrics are selected to perform well in subtropical conditions.
-
Daniel believes refinement has little to do with formality. Homes are designed around how a family actually lives, removing daily friction and creating rooms that are comfortable to use every day. Where children, pets or frequent guests are part of life, he specifies high-performance textiles, sealed natural stone and durable finishes that keep their character under real use.
-
Yes. Daniel combines contemporary, vintage and bespoke pieces with a client's own furniture and art, so an interior feels collected over time rather than bought from a showroom. Each piece is chosen for comfort, proportion and durability as well as character.
-
Yes, and they are often the starting point. Inherited pieces, collected art and objects carry the personal history that makes a home unmistakably yours. Daniel assesses what to keep, restore, reupholster or reposition, then designs the wider scheme to give those pieces their proper setting.
-
Yes. Bespoke joinery, cabinetry and furniture are central to how Daniel makes a home singular. Drawing on his experience designing the Kos Collection with Orsi, he designs pieces to the exact proportions of a room and oversees their making locally or abroad.

Yes, in whichever way suits you. Daniel can source and acquire art directly, or advise on scale, placement, framing and lighting while working with your preferred art adviser or gallery. Either way, art is considered as part of the interior from the outset.
