Chromatic Restraint

Rather than radically altering this period family home, the design sought to refine its character and make it better suited to contemporary life. Warm neutrals create continuity between rooms, while precisely judged accents of mauve, silver and taupe introduce subtle shifts in mood and identity.

Tailored joinery and upholstered headboards sit alongside reflective furniture, dark marble and polished metal, adding depth while preserving the calm of the palette. Generous seating and layered textiles keep the rooms welcoming and comfortable, with practical elements quietly integrated into the overall scheme. The measured use of colour gives the house a cohesive, sophisticated quality while allowing it to adapt naturally to the family’s changing needs.
