Modern Heirloom

The challenge in this traditional residence was to introduce a fresher, more contemporary sensibility without diminishing its formality or established character. Ivory, silver, taupe and muted blue lend lightness to the classical proportions and decorative plasterwork, creating a gracious setting for modern living.

Marble fireplaces, chinoiserie wall treatments and traditional artwork preserve a sense of continuity with the house’s past, balanced by tailored upholstery, clean-lined tables and polished contemporary finishes. The dining room retains its elegant formality, while the bedrooms adopt a softer, more intimate mood. Embroidered textiles, graceful silhouettes and mirrored accents create a subtle dialogue between periods, allowing the interior to feel both established and entirely relevant to modern life.
