Laundry Interior Design

Daily work organised into a clear sequence

Polished Depth interior: the compact joinery composition demonstrates the planning discipline, durable surfaces and efficient storage relevant to a laundry, while.

A laundry is most efficient when the sequence of work is visible in the plan: collecting, sorting, treating, washing, drying, folding and returning. I begin with the household's volume of laundry, the equipment it uses and whether drying happens in a machine, outdoors or on an internal rail. The room should support that sequence without asking clean and unwashed items to cross repeatedly.

Bench space needs to remain usable when baskets and appliances are present. Storage is divided between detergents, linen, cleaning equipment and less frequent household supplies, with hazardous products positioned appropriately. Hanging length, sink size and access to an exterior drying area are resolved according to actual routines rather than a standard cabinet schedule.

Where the laundry is also an entrance, mudroom or utility space, each role needs its own zone. Ventilation, acoustic separation and water-resistant finishes matter, but the room can still share the joinery language and material quality of the kitchen and bathrooms around it.

Early planning is particularly useful in a renovation or new build because services, door swings and appliance clearances quickly fix the room's performance. Contact Daniel Kostiuc Interior Design to discuss a complete home interior.
