Interior Designer in Fortitude Valley
Our studio's home suburb
Daniel Kostiuc Interior Design is based in Fortitude Valley, on St Pauls Terrace, a short distance from the design showrooms around James Street. As an interior designer working from the Valley, I am a few minutes from New Farm, Teneriffe and Newstead, and close to many of the suppliers our work depends on. The suburb reflects the city's growth in miniature, with converted warehouses and contemporary apartment buildings standing side by side, and it suits a studio whose work moves between heritage character and new construction.
Many Valley residences are apartments or converted buildings, and they ask for interiors that balance urban character with comfort. Exposed structure and large windows onto busy streets call for furniture that creates intimacy, and for window furnishings that manage privacy without shutting out the city. Upholstery and rugs soften both the sound and the feel of rooms with hard floors. Bespoke joinery resolves storage in spaces that were never designed as homes, while keeping the original structure visible where it gives the residence its character.
Being close to the studio simplifies a project. Site meetings are quick to arrange, and pieces held in our warehouse can be installed in one planned sequence once a residence is ready. Prospective clients can visit the studio by appointment for a private portfolio meeting, where unpublished projects and material palettes can be seen in confidence. The first call and initial meeting are complimentary, and each enquiry receives a response within one business day.
To view the private portfolio or discuss a nearby project, arrange an appointment at the St Pauls Terrace studio.
